Sue is responsible for partnering with the Board of Directors in setting and executing the strategic direction and goals of VNA of Albany and its affiliates including Visiting Nurses Home Care. She has been with the organizations since October of 2010, and brings 30 years of extensive home care and executive leadership experience, including CEO of VNA of Vermont and New Hampshire, and Vice President of Home and Community based Services at Elliot Health System. Beginning her home care career as a home care nurse, she has an appreciation and firsthand knowledge of the patient population, needs, and challenges.
In 2013, Sue spearheaded VNA of Albany’s service expansion from the three counties of Albany, Saratoga, and Rensselaer to include eight additional counties in the greater Capital Region: Columbia, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren and Washington; as well as the implementation of a state-of-the-art clinical information system for VNA and Visiting Nurses Home Care.
Sue holds a BSN and Masters of Business Administration, both from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She has served on numerous community boards throughout her career, currently serving as Chair of the Board of the Home Care Association of New York State.
Paul Rice, BBA, CFP
Chief Financial Officer – Visiting Nurses Home Care, VNA of Albany, VNA Foundation
Paul is responsible for the development and direction of the financial management strategy for the VNA corporations, ensuring financial viability and performance in an evolving reimbursement environment. He advises the Chief Executive Officer of financial trends and recommended strategies and directs the planning and administration of the business, financial, and information systems of the corporations.
Paul has been in the healthcare field for over 30 years, serving the last 15 years as a Director of Finance. Paul has extensive experience in financial management and analysis, strategic business planning, risk management and a thorough knowledge of the healthcare industry. He has been with the organizations since September 2016.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Siena College in Loudonville. Paul is also a Certified Financial Planner.
Manager of Human Resources & Special Programs – Visiting Nurses Home Care
Lisa is responsible for the agency’s human resources functions including recruitment, orientation, and retention of staff, and administration of the benefits program. She manages all community outreach activities and promotes a culture of positive customer service. Lisa also provides oversight of the NHTD/TBI program.
Lisa joined Visiting Nurses Home Care in 2013. She has extensive background and experience in human resource management, financial management, sales, marketing, and customer service. Lisa holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Marketing and Management from Siena College in Loudonville, NY.
Finance Operations Manager – Visiting Nurses Home Care
Nikki joined VNHC in April 2017. She oversees all aspects of the organization’s revenue cycle operations, payroll processing, payor credentialing and contract management. Nikki also provides supervision and leadership support for the finance department staff and provides key reporting data critical for guiding business operations.
Nikki has over 15 years of experience in healthcare marketing and operations, beginning her career in social work before transitioning into management roles. Before joining VNHC, Nikki was a licensed administrator of an adult home and more recently, served as practice manager for hospitalist physicians at Samaritan Hospital. She holds a Bachelors of Science and Masters degree from State University of New York at Plattsburgh.
Gary joined VNA of Albany in February of 2019 and brings several years of home care leadership experience in the areas of clinical management and quality. He is responsible for analyzing and developing policies and processes in order to assure compliance with meeting and maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards through compliance with all applicable laws in all actions regarding operation and delivery of services.
Gary has been in the healthcare field for over 20 years as a direct care clinician, clinical manager, and educator. He has developed fall prevention programs, served as Director of Rehabilitation, and regional trainer for educating others in regards to fall prevention. He holds a Doctoral degree in physical therapy from Sage Colleges in Troy.
