The Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) is a statewide Medicaid program for chronically ill or physically disabled individuals with a medical need that provides an alternative way of receiving home care services, where the Consumer has more control over who provides their care and how it is provided. The program provides help with activities of daily living (ADLs) and/or skilled nursing services. The Consumer or the person acting on the Consumer’s behalf (called the Designated Representative) assumes full responsibility for the recruiting, hiring, training and supervision of their Personal Assistant(s).
Eligibility for the program is determined by your local Department of Social Services or Managed Care Organization. Visiting Nurses Home Care provides fiscal intermediary services for CDPAP. We thoroughly educate and orient the Consumer/Designated Representative and Personal Assistant with how the program works. As the fiscal intermediary, we coordinate processing of weekly payroll and associated benefits for the Personal Assistants.
For more information about CDPAP, call Visiting Nurses Home Care at 518-694-9907, ext. 1505, email us at CDPAP@vnhc.com, or contact your local Department of Social Services or Managed Care Organization and tell them that you are interested in the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program through Visiting Nurses Home Care.
